Art Verve Academy - Getting Acquainted with Watercolor (Dec. 2018)

Have people told you that watercolor is a difficult medium? Let's dispel that myth as you explore the attributes of watercolor paints with Stacy Egan. 'Value' helps us visually determine one shape from another. It also describes the lightness or darkness of a color relative to its surroundings. In this class, you will work through a series of exercises specific to watercolor that will help you control your lights and darks.

Watercolor by Stacy Egan

Learn how to maintain light areas with masking techniques, preserve the white of the paper, and handle highlights. Slowly build up layers to create luscious darks, and control the amount of water in your brush. Then, apply these techniques within a larger piece.
