Rhythm, pattern, and movement exist naturally in the world around us. We, as artists, have the opportunity to play up these principles in our artwork. These principles are interrelated and can be used to enhance each other. For example, repetition through patterns can create rhythm or movement. You may make bold design choices or subtly create a visual path through the composition. Learn how to use these principles to enhance your artwork's compositions.
Explore many possibilities using the principles of rhythm, pattern, and movement through repetition and experimentation. You will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned to create a composition with energy and movement in the style and medium of your choice.
