An art journal can bring together creative elements to form a personal visual record. In this course, we'll play with collage techniques, a variety of media, plus writing prompts for inspiration.

Art Verve Class

You'll fill the pages of a journal using any combination of the following materials: magazines, art paper, assorted ephemera, photographs, paint or markers, stamps and ink, and meaningful words. No previous experience necessary, and no rules—just a desire to put creative expression to the page.

Meets: Sunday Afternoon, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Instructor: Susan Richards
Format: Discussion, demonstration, hands-on creating with individual feedback, or one-on-one instruction.
Level: No experience necessary. Absolute beginner, beginner to intermediate, all levels are welcome!

Medium: Mixed media or collage with paper, glue, and writing utensils.
Techniques: Cutting, tearing, painting, drawing, pasting, and some writing.
Materials:  All materials provided. Everyone is encouraged to bring something to take notes. Also, bring any old magazines or art papers you have on hand (stamps, photos, ticket stubs, etc.) to be repurposed.
