Drawing Essentials
(Aug. 2026)

Lisa Larrabee

Drawing is challenging, but it is a skill that can be developed like any other. It requires patience, practice, and keen observation skills. Learn how to objectively measure shapes and the value relationships needed to create a convincing illusion of light and form.

Surprisingly, the process of moving charcoal around is similar to painting. Developing a piece from general to specific will improve your painting and composition skills. Whether you're practiced or are a beginner, everyone will receive the individual instruction needed to improve. No drawing experience is needed. Try something new or hone your skills to take your artwork to the next level.
